DRUM EYES- Gira Gira - CD / LP - UPSET THE RHYTHM

click to enlarge The project of Japanese guys Shige (aka DJ Scotch Egg) and E-Da of the BOREDOMS, with some other musicians! A bizarrely weird mixture of heavy drumming with twisted synth-sounds and ambient electronics, and then some grimy Sludge-Doom thrown in as well.

ED SCHRADER'S MUSIC BEAT- Jazz Mind - LP - UPSET THE RHYTHM

click to enlarge Debut-album by two-men band from Baltimore. Ed Schrader on vocals and pounding on a floor-tom, Devlin Rice on bass-guitar. A very stripped-down and reduced approach to Post-Punk, but with an amazing amount of variation! Occasionally with some additional instruments, like Randy Randall (NO AGE) on guitar, resp. MATMOS on 5 of tracks on this LP. References to their sound could be early No Wave bands, NOH MERCY, BUTTHOLE SURFERS and the YOUNG GODS. 11 tracks in full, limited edition on white vinyl! http://edschradersmusicbeat.bandcamp.com/

PHEROMOANS- Does This Guy Stack Up? - CD / LP - UPSET THE RHYTHM

click to enlarge Limited edition of 500 copies on heavy 180g-vinyl! New full album by this british band, marking a slight departure from their previous releases. Adding some electronic elements on most of the 12 songs here, they are going a similar way as WIRE did after their first two albums... but in a dirgy, sloppy and simplistic droning way. http://thepheromoans.blogspot.de/

TRASH KIT- Teenagers/How Do You Do? - 7" - UPSET THE RHYTHM

click to enlarge Limited edition of 500 copies on orange vinyl. New single by this female trio from England. Seemingly influenced by the Y-PANTS, RAINCOATS and LILIPUT, and sounding similar to GRASS WIDOW! www.myspace.com/trashkit
