The "Mixed Nuts Don’t Crack" compilation LP is one of the most essential parts of my own record-collection. Bands like NUCLEAR CRAYONS or SOCIAL SUICIDE fucking blew me away! CHALK CIRCLE had also 2 tracks on that compilation (which are of course featured on this restrospective LP as well), but didn't impress me that much... Now 30 years later listening again to their songs, for sure their music has a resemblance to bands like KLEENEX/LILIPUT, DELTA 5, SLITS or BUSH TETRAS – but undoubtedly not the greatness of those! Not to mention the extremely poor recording-quality on some tracks here...

DUNES- Noctiluca - LP - POST PRESENT MEDIUM
 First full album (11 songs) by this trio, featuring Stephanie Chan (ex-FINALLY PUNK), Mark Greshowak (ex-TALBOT TAGORA), and Kate Hall (ex-MIKA MIKO). But it sounds nothing like their previous bands! It's melancholic and dreamy LoFi-Indie-Rock with ethereal jingle-jangle harmonies, similar to bands like BRILLIANT COLORS, and with an arty approach in their songwriting, comparable to the COCTEAU TWINS.
